    Hiniling ng Pilipinas sa China na alisin ang mga barko nila na nasa Julian Felipe (Whitsun) Reef sapagkat ang pananatili ng Chinese maritime vessels doon ay “tahasang paglabag sa soberanya ng Pilipinas, sovereign rights at jurisdiction.” Sa pahayag ng Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), sinabihan ng ating bansa ang dambuhalang nasyon sa agarang withdrawal ng mga fishing vessel at maritime assets nito sa bisinidad ng karagatan ng Kalayaan Group of Islands sa West Philippine Sea para maiwasan ang pagkasira ng kapaligiran at likas na yaman ng Pilipinas. Binanggit ng DFA na ang Julian Felipe Reef sa Kalayaan Group Islands ay saklaw ng Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) ng Pilipinas. “We reiterate that the continued deployment, lingering presence and activities of Chinese vessels in Philippine maritime zones blatantly infringe upon PH sovereignty, sovereign rights and jurisdiction.”
