    Excerpt
Vessels of the China Coast Guard (CCG) continued patroling the surrounding waters of the disputed Diaoyu Islands Sunday. Analysts said the patrol is China’s way of making it clear to other countries that it will safeguard its territories. The CCG announced the patrol activities, the first time it did so since US President Joe Biden and Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga released a joint statement on 16 April after their meeting in Washington.
