    A European Union-assisted project and a Southeast Asian center have signed a memorandum of agreement to undertake a fisheries project to boost the development of Western Samar's coastal communities. Signatories to the MOA were the Western Samar Agricultural Resources Development Program (WESAMAR), represented by program director Paul Snead, and the Tigbauan, Iloilo-based Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center Aquaculture Department (SEAFDEC AQD), represented by Dr. Rolando Platon, chief.
