The Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (Seafdec) based in Tigbauan, Iloilo got the nod of the Department of Agriculture (DA) in its efforts to help small-time fisherfolk. DA Undersecretary for Fisheries Cesar Drilon cited Seafdec's breakthroughs in scientific researches which have introduce productive systems to the fishing industry and have in turn benefited mostly small-time fishermen.
