    Excerpt
I do not think we should be dependent on auguries at all, considering that it is our exclusive economic zone and our continental shelves that are at stake. Whether the Potus be Trump or Biden, what credibility and ascendancy would the US have to insist on observance with the provisions of a treaty to which it is not a party? Much besides, the US is notorious for invoking international law only when it suits its purposes, and thumbing its bulbous nose at it when it perceives it to be contrary to its biases.
