Isang makabuluhang pagbaba ng fecal coliform ang naitala sa Manila Bay, partikular sa Baywalk area, Estero de San Antonio Abad, at Baseco Beach, ayon sa Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR). Sa Baywalk, ang fecal coliform ay bumaba ngayon sa 2,211,833 na malamang na bilang bawat 100 milliliters (MPN / 100ml), kumpara sa 5,666,213 MPN / 100ml sa 2019, iniulat ng DENR. Ang antas ng coliform sa Estero de San Antonio Abad ay bumaba din mula 43,881,048 MPN / 100ml hanggang 19,066,767 MPN / 100ml, at Baseco Beach mula 1,700,000 MPN / 100ml noong 2019 hanggang 341,225 MPN / 100ml, sinabi nito. Malayo pa rin ito upang maabot ang karaniwang antas ng coliform para sa mga baybaying dagat na ligtas para sa paglangoy at iba pang katulad na mga aktibidad na libangan na nasa 100 MPN / 100ml.
