Three concerned citizens in Casiguran town in Aurora helped save rescue a great white pelican just before the end of 2020. Francisco Calinog, Andy Ortiz and Francia Dasillo from Sitio Mahogany in Barangay Masagana, Dilasag, Aurora rescued a weak great white pelican (Pelecanus onocrotalus) in the said barangay. Unsure of the reason why the migratory bird is in their area, they immediately reported it to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (Cenro) based in Casiguran town.
