Whale sharks have been sighted at the Taklong Island National Marine Reserve (TINMR) in Nueva Valencia, Guimaras. Locally known as butanding, whale shark (Rhincodon typus) is the largest living shark and largest living fish in the world reaching lengths of 40 feet or more and could weigh up to 60 tons. But in spite of its size, this giant does not harm humans or attacks its prey like most of its relatives.
