    Excerpt
A physician by profession, she chose to manage a 31-hectare fishpond rather than run a clinic or hospital. She is Dr. Vernoni Dulalia of Dumangas, Iloilo, whose income from her fishponds inspired her to train at the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center Aquaculture Department, on “Milkfish in Brackishwater Ponds.” Dr. Dulalia attended a 20-day training course which included lectures and practical activities which provided her and other participants with technical knowledge and skills on nursery and grow-out operations of bangus.
